The Humanity Arts Project creates interactive performance experiences that stimulate cognitive engagement, build emotional resilience, and strengthen empathy through shared participation in music, comedy, and storytelling.
We are in a time dominated by passive entertainment formats that limit mental stimulation and reduce opportunities for meaningful social engagement.
THA replaces passive observation with structured, consent-based participation that actively engages memory, attention, and collaborative connection.
Founded by musical theatre performer and educator Susan Sassi, THAP develops interactive sing-alongs, theatre games, and guided storytelling experiences designed specifically for seniors, students, and community groups. Each program is built around invitation rather than pressure, allowing participants to engage at their own comfort level while still exercising attention, creativity, and social awareness.
About Susan
Susan believes the world needs more performing arts programs to strengthen our minds, deepen empathy, and expand imagination. Live entertainment is not just enjoyment—it is a powerful learning tool that supports emotional growth, enriches senior living activities, enhances library programming, and inspires students through interactive arts experiences. The Humanity Arts Project brings these ideas to life through joyful, engaging programs that spark connection, support well-being, and celebrate the creativity within every community.
🎶 Singing Performances
My singing programs feature musical theatre favorites, golden-age classics, Gershwin, Cole Porter, and popular hits tailored to the age group I’m performing for.
I also offer customizable singing performances for seniors, including memory-friendly songs, themed concerts, and seasonal or holiday sets. Whether it’s a lively sing-along or a reflective musical moment, these programs encourage joy, cognitive engagement, and emotional connection.
🎭 Improv Games & Interactive Activities
I lead light improv games, group activities, and playful exercises designed to boost creativity, encourage social interaction, and support cognitive wellness. These sessions are a hit at retirement communities, where residents enjoy laughing, participating, and connecting in a low-pressure, uplifting environment.
Activities can include improv prompts, movement warm-ups, storytelling games, and gentle participation options that meet residents where they are.
⭐ Solo Theatre & Story Telling Programs
For communities looking for something truly unique, I offer solo theatre pieces and interactive storytelling experiences that blend humor, narrative, and performance. These programs support expression, imagination, and social-emotional well-being.
I can adapt materials and themes to the needs of schools, senior living communities, or special events.
🎓 Programs for Students (Schools & Youth Groups)
My school arts programs use performance, storytelling, and play-based learning to help students explore empathy, creativity, and emotional awareness. Acting games, character-building activities, and spotlight moments help students develop confidence, communication skills, and imagination.
Sessions can be tailored for assemblies, classroom visits, workshops, or after-school programs.
🧡 Why This Work Matters
